THE MANNEQUAL PRESS RELEASE 12TH JULY 2010
The Mannequal™ was created to help change how disability is represented in the high street. Essentially a display chair, the Mannequal™ is specifically designed to resemble the universally recognised symbol of the wheelchair, and act as a symbol of inclusivity to disabled shoppers, regardless of condition. It also exists as a reflection of the retailer’s commitment to ensure that responsibilities have been met under the Disability Discrimination Act, and that goods and services are accessible. It can seat any male or female seated mannequin, and is available in all colours to fit subtly and aesthetically in any window or in store display. The Mannequal™ will be launched in Debenhams in July. Created by Sophie Morgan, Manufactured by Universal Display.
